Frequently asked questions

Will this product suit my skin?
This is a lovely introduction to retinol for people with dry, combination and balanced skin. Regular Vitamin A users may prefer The Ordinary Retinal 0.2% Emulsion.

How long will this product last?
A 30ml bottle is a 3-month supply. That's less than $0.20 per use.

Why should I introduce retinoids into my routine slowly?
Your skin needs time to build a tolerance to it. Retinoids speed up your skin cell turnover rate. Because your skin isn't used to shedding and renewing cells this quickly, it goes through an adjustment period. During this adjustment phase, it’s common to experience redness, flakiness, peeling and sensitivity. Easing into it helps minimise these uncomfortable reactions.

If you're new to retinoids, start with a milder formula twice a week (for example, Monday and Thursday), then increase to every other night over a few weeks.
